Platform dependancy

Terraria is playable on Android; Ios; Xbox; Playstation; Nintendo 3DS and PC. This is extremely useful for players who don't have much money to spend on consoles and games since gaming is a very expensive hobby.

Operating systems used

The operating systems which can be used to run Terraria on a PC are Windows and Linux. This allows roughly anyone to have access this game as virtually every computer runs one of the operating systems.

Application software used (Programming)

Terraria was created using C sharp using the XNA framework. The code language of C sharp is an easy code language to learn as well as it being one of the common languages used to create games unlike Runescape which uses Java. The fact that it is C sharp allows modders to easily make modifications to the game files, allowing access to unused items as well as adding additional items or any other content to the game.

Graphical API

The engine used to make Terraria was the XNA framework which is a free piece of software provided by Microsoft. This software being available to everyone is useful to people who want to create games of their own. This wouldn't be a terrible idea due to the fact the Terraria is a very popular

Sound API

The sound adjustments or Terraria are fairly minimal. The only changeable options are for sound; ;music and ambient. When looking at  this menu it is hard to tell what actually changes with the sound option, whether its the sound effects or just the sounds of the majority of the assets. The ambiance setting isn't a common setting for games to have. Having this setting allows for players to become more immersed in the game.

TV

The video settings for Terraria are fairly unique compared to most games. The player is able to turn the entire background of the game off, as well as the overall video quality that they receive. Terraria also has two different lighting settings. The general lighting setting and the multicore lighting. This allows players to have a much higher level of control on their lighting preference.

As an individual with little knowledge of PC components I would say that these aren't asking for much. The fact that it was made on a simple program supplied by Microsoft, they should be fairly low. It allows many players to buy the game and play it fairly easily. The majority of computers come with roughly these components whereas consoles can run it perfectly fine so long as there is space on the console's hard drive to download the game initially.
