The first coin operated game to be created was Galaxy Game in 1971. Galaxy Game was a re-programmed version of Spacewar. Spacewar was created in 1962 for the PDP-1 system and was the first game to allow multiple users at a single time. The users would attempt to shoot one another whilst avoiding the gravitational pull created b the sun.
Pong
Released in 1972 the game pong consisted of a black screen with a white "net" in the center dividing the screen into two sections. The player controles.

Consoles
Video game consoles have come a great distance with many improvements. From the Brown box in 1967 to the Xbox one today,consoles have changed our lives and the way we stay entertained. The first game console was the Brown box in 1967 created by Ralph H Baer. The Brown box was created to be used with any ordinary television which people had in their homes and had six different games which could be played, there was volleyball; ping-pong; tennis; light-gun game; handball and chase game. There was no sound for the Brown box as well as the graphics being to a very low standard.

After the Brown box came Atari's PONG in which came to be a home console in 1975 due to the fact that the arcade machine was so popular in 1973.

As well as the PONG console being released, Mangavox made improvements to their Odyssey game system and released two separate improved versions of the original. There were the Mangavox Odyssey 100 and 200.

From 1976 to 1977 there were multiple Mangavox Odyssey consoles released. These consoles only had minor improvements however such as as a different controller and minor improvements to the graphics.
Nintendo released their first series of video games consoles in 1977 and were only available in Japan and were very similar to the Atari 2600 and feature games in roughly the same style as pong.

The 1980s are regarded as the "Golden age of video gaming" This was the period in which gaming technology rapidly improved and all the genres we know today like fighting; RPG and fantasy.

1958
Willy Higinbotham created a basic tennis game for an oscilloscope and analog computer system for public demonstration at the Brookhaven National Laboratory. The game was dismantled two years later and almost completely forgotten about, this basic tennis game paved the way for the video games we have today.

Steve Russel, an MIT student devised Spacewar. Spacewawas the first computer based video game which spread to many computers across the whole of America throughout the next decade.

The programming language known as BASIC was created by a mister John Kemeny at Dartmouth as well as creating the computer time-share system. Both of these systems were designed to make it easier for students to create their own computer games. soon after this endless numbers of computer games were being created.
Mobile
The first system for mobile gaming was the Nokia handset which was released in 1997 which was able to play the old-school classic snake. The objective of Snake is to collect a small pixel which increases the player's score. each time the p[layer collects a pixel the snake increases. the player must also avoid touching the rest of the snake as it will cause game over.

In 1999 the company Gameloft was founded. Gameloft created many games for use on hand deviced which were able to use Java and Brew such as Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia.

In 2001 Sega released Sonic the Hedgehog in Japan. This game features Sonic/player running through different zones collecting coins and defeating enemies. The player increases score based on how many rings they collected and how fast they complete the level.

2004 was a milestone in mobile gaming history as Prince of Persia ported to mobile devices. Prince of Persia is a 3rd person puzzle plat-former which was developed by Ubisoft for console and Gameboy.

Angry birds was released in 2009 and sales in the app store sky rocketed. Angry birds is a 2d puzzle plat-former in which the player uses a large slingshot to propel different birds which have different properties at structures to eliminate pigs and complete the levels.

The aim of Temple run was to see how long the player could go on a continuous pathway without getting caught by the monkeys. The player is also able to collect power-ups to increase gameplay.

The Ipad mini was released on the 2nd November 2012. The Ipad mini allowed people to play on the move. Although the Ipad was allowed people to do the same, the Ipad mini made it easier for people to do this as it was smaller and had the same capabilities as the previous model.

1972
In 1972 the BBC announced CEEFAX. CEEFAX was discovered whilst engineers where exploring different ways to create subtitles for TV shows found that it was possible to create pages full of text on what was a previously unused section of the analogue TV signal.

The very first version of teletext specification is agreed by BBC, ITV and also set markers. CEEFAX began to broadcast a full 30 pages of teletext service on the 23rd September 1974.
1980
By this point teletext had been upgraded to have colours and larger text size; Promotions; people had even purchasing external adapters for their television sets. However in 1980 Teletext begins to gain momentum as TV sets which are already teletext capable. There were even experiments to do live teletext broadcasts.
1985
Over two million people own television sets that able to use teletext as well as the regional teletext services being introduced.
1990
In 1990 the BBC ended the telesoftware services as well as ARPANET being ended as well ARPANET ceasing to excist. In the same year, Berners-Lee developed the first web browser. This was the World Wide Web which was renamed to Nexus.
1997
In this year teletext expanded to many newly launched TV channels. The internet also went through major popularity growth which caused many businesses to notice the commercial opportunities that it can hold.
2001
Over 36 million websites are available for internet users. In the same year Capcom and Midway stop creating coin operated arcade games. This was a symbol of the decline of coin operated games.
2007
The very first regional UK teletext services are deactivated yet there were over 400 different teletext services which were still available via online emulation
2012
The UK teletext services where scheduled to end on the 24th October 2012 after 38 years of being on the BBC. Although it ended teletext brought the un-forgettable game Bamboozle. This quiz game brought fun to people across the world.
